Navigator / Dune Scorcher

A navigator is the highest rank among the technicians: their skill raises them from maintaining to actually operating all the machinery which needs their presence; furthermore, their higher rank makes many eligible for the gifting of flamethrowers by the so-called artificers, an honour which many consider to be dubious at best. Rarely involved in a fight, despite their firepower, any navigator's life revolves around their work shifts. While all their tasks are aimed at steering Naia on its course, there is only one any navigator will speak of with dreamy eyes: the periodic turn at the helm of Naia, gazing at the green-and-blue landscape of Irdya over which they proudly exercise their stewardship.
