Like white magic, black magic and necromancy is almost as varied and equally full of nuances. But the difference lies at the price one has to pay in order to gain mastery over death and the magical art that is entwined with it. Not all attempts to gain lichhood and eternal un-life succeed. Failures are many, and the results are souls unbound yet unable to reach salvation. Trapped in between by the twisted curse, these failed to-be-liches retain some of their former magical abilities and gain something new: the ability to travel freely and over long distances. Yet, that is hardly a recompense for what they have lost.
